HURÁÁÁ ŽIŽKOV transforms an everyday commute into a small celebration. Opened in 2021, the pedestrian tunnel finally connected Prague’s Žižkov district with the Main Railway Station, removing a long-standing barrier between the neighborhood and the city center. Inspired by the bold visual language of pop art, the illuminated lettering expresses the excitement surrounding this long-awaited connection and gives a voice to the emotions of local residents. The vibrant red interior turns the passageway into a memorable urban landmark, enhancing the daily journey of thousands of people.
The creative concept was developed by Václav Mlynář and MONUMENT Office in collaboration with BOD Architekti, transforming a purely infrastructural space into a strong and optimistic symbol of a newly connected city.
